The US should convert to the metric system because it is faster and easier method to use. It consists of using deciamls and moving it to the left or right depending on wich measurment is used. To convert inches to feet you have to divide by twelve to get it to feet. So much harder than metric! :)

The US government should convert to metric units because it is a faster and mush simpler process. This will help people with jobs, and school work faster and more efficient.

    My response to Question One:
Why should the US convert to metrics? There is much more to this than that it is easier to learn. Economics plays a huge role. The ability for America to communicate and cooperate with other countries, especially because it plays a huge role in foreign affairs, is vital. Simply put, if we create a bargain, ex: a POW for 10 kg of gold, we could make mistakes more easily. In the example stated above, we could send 10 lbs instead of 10 kg of gold and the POW gets executed.
Alongside that is the fact that our customary system is one heck of a lot more complicated than the base-10 metric system. The sooner we implement this into our education, the sooner kids could be less confused about measurements. When this happens, kids get better grades, leading to greater confidence and adults bred with character.
Along the lines of simplicity is basic business sense. We don't have to double produce with the metric system and nor will other companies, which recuces costs. It's just common sense and business sense. What combo could be better?

We should convert to metrics because everyone else around the world is using it. It would be difficult because we already use our own system.Metrics would be known around the world but we are already used to the system we have now and everyone in the united states uses it.We have already made establishment to help out with converting to metrics and we passed different treaties about it.

    1. Correct comment We should use the metric system since the rest of the world is using it. That and it is easier to measure. Everybody will then just have to use one system. Mechanics would only have to buy one set of tools because it would be universal.

    1. We should convert to customary units because it is easier to count and calculate because all it is, is counting by 10s

  8. although I support the metric system it would be hard to convert to it because nobody uses it. This means that we will have to start teaching kids the metric system and only that, and then for a 90 year period everything has to have a metric and customary measurement on it, including speed limit signs, bottles of soda, canned goods, and many more things. Doing all that takes a lot of money

    Question #2
It would be difficult to convert to the metric system because it would not be make sense economically.

    Question 3
We already use the metric system in our daily lives during cooking activities that include measuring. This disadvantage is thst the metric system is not universal at this time.
