The Three Main Clouds - Cirrus, Stratus, Cumulus

What type of weather would you expect with each type of cloud?

Leaf Classification

What three types of leaves did we learn about today and what are their main characteristics that allow you to tell them apart? Here's a BIG hint...they all start with a P :)

Relative Melting Points and Electrical Conductivity

What are the main differences between ionic and covalent compounds? We ran into some problems today with our equipment? What suggestions do you have for collecting more accurate data on relative melting points and electrical conductivity of compounds?

Air Masses Lab...Take 2!

Was your hypothesis supported or not supported by your observations? How did the experiment today relate to air masses and colliding cold and warm fronts?

Air Masses Lab

Allow our first attempt did not produce the results I was expecting, this is just part of science. Every experiment you attempt will not work perfectly, but the lesson here is to make observations and set up a new experiment and....TRY AGAIN! Also, many times our hypothesis is incorrect. This does not make you a bad scientist. It merely gives you information and perhaps leads you to ask another question. Thank you for your patience today :) YOU ROCK 6th GRADE!!! Never stop asking questions and searching for answers.

Wow!!! So big!!!

Were you surprised by how much your painted lady larvae had grown???  What is your prediction for how many more days until they undergo their beautiful metamorphosis?

Cold and Warm Front Animation

Please click on the link below and watch the animations for cold and warm fronts.  After viewing, what type of clouds would you expect to see produced from an approaching cold front?  Warm front?
