I observed that today the painted lady butterfly larvae were getting very long. I also observed that the larvae were leaving waste, and webby stuff on the nutrients. The painted lady larvae seem to like the nutrients and have absorbed some of the nutrients. I predict that the next time we observe our painted lady butterfly larvae, our larvae will have grown bigger and some of the extra nutrients we gave them today will be gone. SCIENCE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I<3 science!:D

What I thought was so cool was that the Nutrients just dried up.

  10. Hi Ms. Yates. Today I saw that our butterfly larvae's were getting bigger and eating, then pooping. It was gross, but the poop kind of looked like brown sugar. I call our caterpillar Little Crawler because he's about as little as an ant and loves to crawl in the container. Little Crawler eats a lot and sometimes tries to escape. This is the best lab ever - #Auhona:)

  13. This is my third time (its me Avinash) because my dad wasn't listening, so here it goes. I predict that my worm, Leroy will grow fatter and longer because there are more nutrients in its box/container.

My painted lady larvae grew a lot and it is much more fuzzy! It is so cute but also vicious because it has tiny little jaws so it can eat.
