Great work today!!! My apologies for being so rushed, but don't fret scientists, you will also have tomorrow to experiment with the yeast. Were the results you observed what you expected? What variables would you like to change tomorrow?
Hello my wonderful students!!! Listen closely...are you listening??? This is your science teacher Ms. Yates. I know, I know. I just saw you a few hours ago. Remember the awesome reminders, updates, and fantasticness that I promised you?? It is here. Yep!! Right here. Remember to check it out daily. The rewards will be worth your time. Assignments that you forgot about or were absent for? Here!! Notes you may have missed?? Here too!!! Announcements?? Yep!! And, fantastic reminders of all the cool stuff we did today...All here and more!! See you tomorrow. Or Monday, if you are so awesome that you are reading this over the weekend.
No, because i thought the yeast would go lower when i pounded down on it. The variables i would like to change would be the flour. I would like to change it into something that has sugar in it.

ReplyDeleteWhat I observed today was what I expected. The variable I want to change is the water.I want to test what happens if you put salt in hot water bath.
I didn't expect the yeast to produce Co2 so fast. I would like to change the flour variable to sugar.
ReplyDeleteVarun
I expected the sugar to make the yeast release more Co2 than the flour, I was correct, but I didn't think the sugar would make the yeast release only 50 more ml then the flour. Tomorrow I want to test if other food supplies will activate the yeast better than the sugar did.
ReplyDeleteI expected the yeast to kind of rise, but now that i think about it, it couldn't have because it didn't have enough heat. Tomorrow I would like to maybe put in a little more yeast and flour because it will probably make a difference in the pressure
ReplyDeleteOlivia G..
It was what I expected and I would like to add salt to the flour and sugar next time and maybe soda.

DeleteI thought flour would be best although sugar did do better according to the rest of the class. Ours popped, so I didn't get an accurate response from our group. The Co2 reacted faster than I thought though!

I did not think that salt and yeast would make a lot of CO2. I would change the variables to baking soda and salt.
ReplyDeleteAlex
I expected that flour would make the yeast produce Co2 than sugar but I was wrong. The sugar was better. Tomorrow, I think I would like to see if anything would work better than sugar.
ReplyDeleteAllen
I didn't expect the sugar to produce more Co2 than the flour, so I want to test how much Co2 will produce with baking soda.

ReplyDeleteThe variables that I would want to change are the amount of time we have. Like today, we only had 5 minutes. I would want to make that longer. I would also want to change the amount of yeast we had.We could have 2 scoops of yeast. Those are the variables I would want to change.
If a variable could be changed i would change the amount of hot water you put in.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the Flour had less co2 than the sugar I also noticed that I when I pressed down on the flour yeast it had gone more slowly up than the sugar
ReplyDeleteAvni
I would like to change the hot water bath to a cold water bath

No, I thought that that the yeast would go lower with the flour. I would like to change the flour variable to sugar.

ReplyDeleteI expected that the sugar would make it rise higher but i would change the fact that there was flour.
ReplyDelete-Savannah
I had expected the heat would have activated the yeast the most but it was the sugar that activated it the most. Tomorrow I expect that the material that contains sugar will be the most effective to activate the yeast.
ReplyDelete-Sebastian
my variable would be adding baking soda instead of sugar and flour
ReplyDeleteNo I thought flour would make yeast break out of dormancy earlier but sugar did. If I could change a variable it would be putting both flour and sugar together and see what happens instead of putting them in separate bags.
ReplyDeleteGaurav s
No, because I thought that the flour would go a lot lower. I would like to change this variable to sugar.
