Woods Ecosystem

Today we discussed food webs.  Discuss how energy flows from the sun to coyote in the woods ecosystem.

  1. The sun gives off energy to the grass which then the coyote eats. Then the it gives the energy for the day

  2. The sunlight goes to a plant and a consumer eats the producer and gets the other energy and when the consumer dies the decomposers eat the dead consumer and get that energy. -savannah kezmoh

  3. A coyote can get the sun's rays into his body by a of food web. The sun's rays goes into a blade of grass. Now the blade of grass has the energy. Now a herbivore comes and eats that blade of grass. Now that herbivore has the energy. Now the coyote comes and eats the herbivore. The coyote has the energy now. That's how a coyote can get the sun's rays.

  4. First, the energy from the sun goes into the grass and helps make it grow. Next, a deer or another animal eats the grass and now it has the energy from the sun which was in the grass. After that, the wolf comes along and eats the animal. Now the wolf has the energy of the deer, grass, and sun. Lastly, the wolf dies and all the energy that it got, went back into the earth. This how the sun's energy gets to the coyote. Alicia B.

  5. The sun hits the plant which the plant is eaten by a consumer and a coyote gets the energy from the consumer that got the energy from the plant.

I think a way to get energy from the sun to a coyote is from plants. The plants get eaten by deer and the energy goes to the deer. Then the coyote eats the deer and the energy goes to the coyote.

The sun first gives energy to the gramma grass and then a hare eats it so it travels to the hare. Then the coyote eats the hare and the energy travels to the coyote. Lastly the energy travels to a tubifex worm since the coyote dies and the worm decomposes it.

  8. The energy from the sun gets stored in the grass or plants. Not long after a deer may come along and graze on the plants. As a coyote hunts then eats it, it receives some energy that was stored in the grass.-Drew S.

  9. The energy of the sun flows through a coyote because sun makes grass grow, then a small dear approaches the grass, after a coyote approaches the dear and eats it, lastly the coyote gets eaten and decomposes into energy for he sun.

  10. The sun flows into the grass which a deer eats. The deer gets some of the sun's energy from the grass. Then the coyote comes up, and eats up the deer. The sun's energy now goes into the coyote. That's how the sun's energy went to the coyote.

  11. The sun's rays are absorbed by the plant and using photosynthesis gets stored in the leaves. Then the deer will eat the leaves and the sun's energy will transfer into the deer. The deer gets hunted by the coyote who eats the deer and energy gets transferred into the coyote. This is how energy flows from the sun to coyote.

  12. The sun energy goes through producers which are eaten by predators of which are eaten by other predators and so on. they are eventually eaten by decomposers. All along the way the sun's energy is being moved to the predator.
