What differences and similarities did you observe between the reaction of calcium chloride/baking soda and citric acid/baking soda?
Hello my wonderful students!!! Listen closely...are you listening??? This is your science teacher Ms. Yates. I know, I know. I just saw you a few hours ago. Remember the awesome reminders, updates, and fantasticness that I promised you?? It is here. Yep!! Right here. Remember to check it out daily. The rewards will be worth your time. Assignments that you forgot about or were absent for? Here!! Notes you may have missed?? Here too!!! Announcements?? Yep!! And, fantastic reminders of all the cool stuff we did today...All here and more!! See you tomorrow. Or Monday, if you are so awesome that you are reading this over the weekend.
Quinn,
ReplyDeletethe differences i noticed in the lab was that one of the bags was hot while the other was cold.
Some similarities were that both of the bags expanded, another similarity was that the lab was awesome!!!

ReplyDeleteThe differences that I noticed in todays lab, was that the bag with the calcium chloride and baking soda mixture heated up, while the citric acid and baking soda was freezing cold. The calcium chloride/ baking soda mixture was milky and white, but citric acid/ baking soda mixture was a clear liquid.
Some similarities that I observed were that the solutions both released CO2, and the bags expanded.

ReplyDeleteThe differences of the two solutions were that bag 1, was extremely hot, but bag 2, was extremely cold. Another different thing that happened was that bag 1 looked a little like milk, but bag 2, turned clear and looked like soda. The similarities of the two solutions were that they both became fizzy after adding water, and that they both puffed up like pillows. This experiment was fun.
Similarities: bubbly, rises quickly, fizzy bubbled
ReplyDeleteDifferences: Different temperatures, one was clear, the other milky

ReplyDeleteThe differences between bags we tested today were that bag 1 was very cold, milky colored, and didn't inflate as much as bag 2. In bag 2, it was hot, clear, and the bag almost exploded! The similarities were that both bags had the same amount of baking soda and they had and equal amount of water.

ReplyDeleteThe differences i saw in the bags were that there was one that was super super cold and one was hot.
One of them also puffed up more than the other one. In bag 2 i also saw theat it was transparent and bag 1's liquid looked like milk.
Similarities - Fizzy, bubbly, popping, producing air
ReplyDeleteDifferences - Different temperatures, one was clear, one was milky, different materials

The first bag was warm and looked milky, but it didn't inflate much. Bag 2 was cold and watery but with an air tight bag
ReplyDeletesimilarities: both inflated, fizzy, amount of baking soda, amount of water
ReplyDeletedifferences: temperature, color, solid

ReplyDeleteSome similarities and differences that I have observed are: both fizzy, both in a bag, one freezing, one cold, one milky, and one clear. I loved this lab! It was very interesting!

ReplyDeleteThe differences between the two bags was that bag #1 was warm and bag #2 was ice cold. Bag #1 didn't immeaditily blow up it's bag, but when it did, there was little air in the bag. When with bag #2, the soulution gave off gas fast, and the bag was so full of gas, it could burst everywhere, with a slight, yet pressurized squeeze. The similarities were the amount of baking soda and the fact that both solutions contained water. The reaction of the solutions was almost exact, both solutions gave off gas, and both solutions fizzed up like ocean foam.
1 warm fat
ReplyDelete2 cold fat
Remember I will come at lunch resess
The differences between the two bags were: One was Snow White while the other was crystal clear. Also, one was boiling hot, while the other was Freezing Cold. Lastly, one of the bags gave off tons of gas, and immediately expanded, and while the other did give off gas, it was a very little amount. The similaritie(s) were: Both bags gave off gas, and both bags expanded.

Differences:
ReplyDeleteBag 1: cold, solution separated
Bag 2: warmer, solute dissolved
Similarities:
fizzy, puffy bags
