Ashley The role of RNA Polymerase in Transcription is to break the hydrogen bonds between the 2 DNA strands and copy/check mRNA so it can travel out of the nucleus. The product of translation is amino acid. I thought this "test" was AWESOME and it helped me understand more about transcription and translation.
RNA Polymerase unzips the DNA. The sense strand is used to create a mRNA which is a messenger. The information given (Us instead of Ts) are read by the ribosomes and then created into a tRNA. The tRNA is then used to create the amino acid peptide. The amino acid peptide is the end product of translation. ~Nicole
The RNA polymerase breaks the hydrogen bonds in the DNA so that the mRNA can come with base pairs. In translation the mRNA leaves the nucleus through the nucleus pore and pairs with tRNA. Then based on the base pairs in the mRNA, you look at the codon wheel and you will get the amino acids used in the polypetide chain. For example, if the 1st 3 base pairs in the mRNA are GCA then the amino acid for it on the polypetide chain would be alanine or ALA. The product of translation is the polypetide chain. Amy

The polymerase is used to break down the hydrogen bonds and also replicate and check so the MRNA can go into the cytoplasm.
